At the PGA Championship Media Day (Oakland Hills, Bloomfield, MI) Tiger Woods via satellite addressed the media re: Oakland Hills, his health, the state of his game and a few other odds/ends. In so many words Woods stated "I'm Ready", when asked if he wound play next week if it were not the Open he said unequivocally, Yes.
When asked if he had any pain from the knee, swinging, playing and
hitting balls, he said "No", he did admit that he is not 100% yet and
has not played 18 holes, in the same breath he mentioned that he would
be playing far more than 18 holes in the coming week and stepping up
his routine to be ready come next Thursday. Woods also mentioned one
thing he learned from Winged Foot that he will not let happen again.
Tiger said he wasn't able to get into the flow of competitive golf until
the 3rd-4th hole on Thursday and Friday and by that time it was too
late, he had already shot himself outside of the cut line.
Woods will be looking for a Jordan-esque "threepeat" in this years PGA
at Oakland Hills where he has only played in competition on two
occasions once as an amateur ('96) and the other as a member of the US
team in 35th Ryder Cup in ('04).
