The Lakemont golf course was built in two phases beginning in 1988. John LaFoy designed the layout with the front 9 holes played around Stone Mountain Lake. Incredible views of the World's largest Exposed Granite mountain along with the famous Confederate Memorial carving featuring Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and Stonewall Jackson on horseback makes the front nine a memorable experience. Six holes have water in play making it not only spectacular, but a strong test of accuracy.

General Review
Pros: great setting
good layout
receptive greens
consistent bunkers,
longer par 3's, good test of iron ability

Cons: Few yardage markers, difficult to gauge proper yardage
inconsistent greens
fairways were hard, difficult to stay through approach shots, sometimes played as a hard pan lie.

Overall Thoughts: good resort course atmosphere, the course was very frustrating at times without any local knowledge of the terrain. Very difficult for beginning golfers as many of the tee shots are blind and require one to hit the correct side of the fairway for an open look at the pin.
What do you usually shoot for 18 holes?: Under 80
