The top player in the field was the eventual winner at the Wyndham Championship and somehow thats surprises everyone. Brandt Snedeker who had been knocking on the door all year playing very consistent golf breaks through in week 33 to secure a 9 seed headed into the playoffs. Of the key stats used on tour Snedeker ranks no worse than 80th in any category other than those related to driving distance and eagles (due to a lack of driving distance). Through last week Snedeker had ammased 6 Top Ten's (1 3rd), 12 Top 25's and over 1.6 million in earnings. With this win, he became the 10th first time winner this year on the PGA tour and the 2nd Nationwide Rookie to capture a title in 2007. Snedeker now heads into the Barclays a mere 3,500 points behind Woods and looking to imporve his position moving into the 120 man field at the Duetche Bank.
