KJ Choi is the early, but dominant leader in the clubhouse after his 2nd Round of the AT&T National.  Choi fired a 66 yesterday and followed up with a 67 today, just one back from the days low round thus far, carded by the tournaments host, Tiger Woods. In 2007 Choi has excelled his game into the upper echelon with a commanding win at the Memorial earlier this summer.  That week, Choi was in complete command of his putter draining a number of par saving putts outside of 20ft to hold off Adam Scott, Rod Pampling, Kenny Perry and Co.  This year KJ ranks among the top 25 in several key categories - Scoring Avg. (20), Sand Save % (4), All-Around (10), Fedex Cup and Money, (11) and better than the tour average in virtually every other category other than driving distance.

This week at the AT&T Chio has 4 bogeys, three on the par 4's and only one on the par 3's.  Choi has avoided double bogey thru 36 holes and looks primed to capture his second victory of the year and leap into the top ten in FedEx Cup Points.  He currently sits in 11th place with 9,089 points a win this week with catapult him to fourth and a projected 12,689 points with a little over a month left in the regular season.  Discuss Topic (0)
